Honey Bee!!

Boy am i glad i pop over to paper market before facial on monday, coz i found my honey bee! Finally! kekekeke..

Bought papers and the scissors to do a layout as a gift to Ro for our 2nd anni.

Was supposed to meet RO on our anni day but I had to work late. Just as well coz the LO was done on the anniversary night itself and presented to him on Friday.

Tadah! The completed project. This photo was taken at Janet's wedding. It's the first time we don on formal evening wear and I tot Ro looked really dashing that night.

Cut out the frame of the paper to have a pop up feel. (i love pop up!)

Creative imagination papers and Hambly transparency (old lace) at the background.
Prima vintage looking roses.

I love how it came up!

Ro? He said he doesnt wan the LO and that the pearls at the photo was extra.
Full of criticism... so typical..

Our 2nd Layout.. Abeit a reluctant one..

Our 2nd layout but it wasnt as enjoyable as the 1st one coz mr ro was feeling sleepy and grouchy.
i first crumpled the green piece of cardstock and brushed the distress ink over the creases to try to crease a textured look. Ro then helped to cut out the pattern paper to create a frame.
The photo mats were also treated with distress ink to complete the look. Paste on the flowers and title and we're done!
BUTS stands for ballet under the stars. It is held yearly at fort canning green and we attended it this year.
an enjoyable evening under the stars with our picnic basket , home made japanese avocado kani salad, miso pasta and lays potato chips.
Our first picnic together!

Our first joint effort! Literally!

After some discussion, we came up with this layout! A true joint effort!

I'm proud of this layout coz it says to me, 2 big heads are better than one!

I bought the papers initially to do a layout on button but after flipping thru the photos on hand, ro suggested to do it on us and wow! the effect is good!

I copied the idea of others by cutting out the paper to have a 2d effect. Distressed abit of the edge to emphasize the 2 different piece of paper. Thank god Ro was the one to cut the papers, if me? the helicopter and aeroplane would most probably be missing.. kekekeke.. well, the clouds at the bottom was cut by me!

Picture of us at HK disneyland, almost flying off with pooh who was holding on to the ballon! Fly Away!

PS: Note the bus/tram taken by me at disneyland. Transportation's the theme :)

My first layout!

Ro's comment of my layout, Its empty, dull and boring.

So he suggested to add some stickers to it. And thus the final layout looks like this.

What do you think? I tot the stickers looked abit out of place but oh well, can I say this is a joint effort? He basically only reccomended me to put the stickers. He says its ugly, dun associate him with it.

I dont care, as long as button loves it!

I finally found it!

After buying loads of papers, blings, pearls, all the glues, dew drops, stickers, chip board accents, distresser ink, flowers, what am i still lacking?

Well, i am lacking the honey bee scissors, the cutterpede and an album.

Guess what I found at paper market?

Yes! Its the cutterpede! The very last one found at Paper Market City Hall.

HAPPY!

A Satisfied me! Layouts coming!!

My first scrapbook gift!

Got this ikea photo frame from the HR and I got an idea of the gift for ashley!

Using the leftover papers, stickers and alpha, I made a small little photo layout for Ash. When it's done, i stuck it to the frame, just nice for her to display in the office!

Of coz, I had to make a trip down to MWL to buy the blings and sticklers that I'm soo hooked on. They really gave the layout a breath of life! the flower and sticker was actually plain and boring but with the sticklers, it came alive!

This is a photo of us at Amara Hotel , Oriental Cafe for her birthday this year.

The super touched look on her face was worth the effort. I'm so glad she loved it.

See! Even mr button loves it too!

2nd... Distresser...

21st Sept 09, we're back for our 2nd class at MWL. I initially wanted to go for 'Freshly squeezed' but it was fully booked and they no longer carry on with that class and thus, I settled for the newest class offered in Sept, "Bitten by the scrap bug". YES! WE ARE! We're bitten by the scrapbug!

All 3 layout's materials are provided and thus our layouts look very similiar. I chose my birthday picutures and Ro chose a mix and match of our photos.

In this layout, ro had to put his alphas on a white card stock and cut out before pasting to the layout to make them stand out coz it's on the polka dot pattern paper. I was spared coz there wasnt enough space for mine :P

We had to distress the papers before we started on this layout. Distressing means to use the ink pads to 'dirty' the paper edges. this gives the papers more emphasis and also gives it an aged look. Clean freak like me couldnt stand my fingers which got all yellow! and i felt it looked really dirty but after seeing the final finished piece, I'm hooked! one of the classmates really dirtied her layout totally and it looks fabulous! her layout packed a punch, very outstanding!

See the dirty edges of our layout? these are made intentionally by us using the distressing inks. This workshop taught us how to make use of complicated pattern paper, cutting out the flowers to match. It also taught us how to use the blings (diamonds) and the sticklers (glitter). Yummy Yummy!

I bought all the materials needed recently! kekekekeke...

Our very first class..

After much pleading, I finally found a scrapbooking partner! Ro finally granted me my bdae wish and started our scrapping hobby!

On 8th August, we went to Plaza Singapura, Made with love for our basic scrapping class.

Titled 'Just getting started', it taught us some basic techniques, like matting of the photos, the tearing techniques, the different type of glue to use, the use of brads, eyelets and the placement of pictures.

Here's our very very first layout. They're simliar coz the materials were provided.

Ro's layout has a blue button and mine pink. He was teasing me that my layout is like me, prim and proper, all straight.. :P

After completing the first layout, we were told to roam around the store and get a set of thickers (alphas), the cardstock (the background piece of paper), 2 more pieces of cardstock for matting our photos (to paste our photo on), and a patterned paper to decorate. I chose a round pattern paper with cute ladybud on them. Ro chose stars! Both our layouts are on our hk trip as the pictures were prepared by me. I was thinking of doing just an album on HK but Ro thinks otherwise. In any case, he doesnt have a choice as I was the one who went to develop. Kekekeke..

I got really excited coz it felt really really good to be able to pick things off the shelf and not having to pay! All included in the price of our course, $35/pax.

When we were completing our layout, the teacher gave us some decorative accessories like the star brad and buttons on ro's layout, and the flowers and dew drops on mine. That got me hooked on the flowers! I likey!

Both of us went home happy. Although ro was the only guy in the class, the teacher made him feel at ease and catered to a more manly layout not like mine all flowery.

I can predict, More class to come!

Love,

Angie
